Overview
Queenies is a habitual restaurant pop-up, run by a Brooklyn-based chef, Matthew Yee. He was raised by Jewish and Chinese parents in New York. With a background ranging from food science to farming, Matt began exploring Chewish cuisine. Inspired by his time in the kitchen with his grandmother, Queenie, he named his mobile restaurant after her. Queenies now hosts pop-up meals in restaurants throughout NYC, featuring food like scallion pancake latkes, stuffed cabbage, and shrimp with lobster sauce.
Solution
I produced the brand identity, custom illustrations, and promotional assets, which emulate the chef’s grandmother spirit and seasonal ingredients used to create his dishes. Additionally, I attend and photograph the events to document the food and atmosphere.
